Review: Steve Madden Carrson Suede SandalSeptember 02, 2016

"Sand" is a fairly accurate description of the color—it's a tan (or light brown) with yellow undertones. The fit is true to size for Steve Madden sandals, or about a half to full size smaller than mass market retail sizing. I normally wear a 6 or 6.5 in sandals and went up to a size 7 in the Carrson Sandal (my feet are slightly wide and generally fit a 6.5W or 7M in closed- or pointed-toe shoes; lengthwise my feet fit a 6 or 6.5).

Having said this, it's likely that anyone with wider-than-medium feet (like mine) will find the front toe strap uncomfortable over time. The ankle straps are also fairly thin and can cause discomfort if buckled at the wrong setting. The footbed is adequately cushioned, though trying to walk long distances in these shoes is still unwise. If you are looking for a low-heeled version of the Carrson, consider the Steve Madden Irenee Ankle Strap Sandal which is well-reviewed and has 2" block heels.
However, for how pretty they are, I am willing to compromise on comfort. I ended up ordering and keeping the shoes in Blue Suede and have been wearing them with my small army of white rompers and dresses with frequency.
