While the rest of the world reaches peak "off-the-shoulder," my fondness for this trend continues to grow, helped by a (seemingly) more humid-than-usual summer. I especially like the detail in diaphanous fabrics or with voluminous ruffles.
I personally think the off-the-shoulder trend will have the staying power of peplums circa 2012 (so my prediction is that it'll remain on retail shelves for maybe two more years). And my optimism seems to be shared by retail buyers, as the trend can be found at mass market retailers and luxury purveyors alike through early 2017.

Since you will likely be seeing a lot more of this trend, I want to share three of my favorite ways to wear an off-the-shoulder dress with ruffles. And these no-brainer "transformations" require no tucking, tying, or rolling. Seen below is the dress worn (1) on the shoulder, (2) off the shoulder, and (3) one-shouldered.
For styles constructed out of fabrics that are more lightweight, you can easily wear the dress as a top, further extending its versatility.

I'll end this post by sharing some of my favorite off-the-shoulder ruffled pieces currently available online: MLM Maison Gingham Dress (more colors here), ModCloth When the Going Gets Ruffle Dress, ASOS Floral Jumpsuit, Kendall + Kylie Ruffle Dress, and For Love & Lemons Rosemary Dress.
