Bows (+ Burberry Brit Bowpark Raincoat Review)

April 26, 2016

It rains infrequently in Connecticut, where I live. Even in especially wet springs, the average monthly rainfall doesn't exceed five inches. This amount of rain (or lack thereof) made it difficult to justify spending several hundred dollars on a designer raincoat, but I couldn't be dissuaded.

For those who live in rainier places and value looking chic even in a downpour, the Burberry Brit Bowpark Raincoat may be a sensible splurge. This durable coat is designed for all seasons, with a removable wool-blend liner that adds warmth and weight and a detachable hood. While it isn't warm enough for New England winters, I can see it being an adequate option for those who live in places with mild winters.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the Bowpark (with a generous A-line shape) fits larger compared to other Burberry styles (though those with wider shoulders or larger chests may want to order their normal size).
Zara Tweed Dress with Layered Skirt | Burberry Brit Bowpark Raincoat | Chanel Westminster Flap | Ann Taylor Pearlized Crystal Statement Necklace | Michael Kors Runway Oversized Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Watch | Kate Spade Heart of Gold Idiom Bangle | Urban Outfitters Opque Tights | Zara Court Shoes (similar)
If I were to nitpick, I would say my least favorite thing about this raincoat is that the signature Burberry check is used sparingly (lines the lower part of the sleeves, under the collar, and as piping in the hood).

This style can be found on sale, though don't count on bargain basement prices. A reasonable discount is 25%-30% off.

You can buy the Burberry Brit Bowpark Raincoat at Saks, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and Neiman Marcus.
