My outfits often mirror my mood, which partially explains why I wear a lot of black in the winter. And, for reasons unclear to me, throwing colorful outerwear over an all-black ensemble instantly improves my mood, however marginally, which is no small feat given that on winter mornings I am often straddling the line between needing to leave the house and wanting to stay home. When something works so intuitively, I don't question why. I will just continue to buy pretty coats.

And here are my favorite reads from around the web this week:

1. 52 Places to Go in 2016 via the New York Times

2. The Second Amendment: Original Intent via the New Yorker

3. Fostering Profits via Buzzfeed

4. Time to End the Tampon Tax via Salon

5. When Are You Really an Adult? via the Atlantic

6. Bill Gates: The Billionaire Book Critic via the New York Times

7. In Texas, It's a Crime to be Poor via Buzzfeed

8. Doctors Dislike Technology Because It Delivers a Fast-food Future For Healthcare via MedCity News

9. When Diversity Is a Spokesmodel via the Atlantic

10. The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare via the New York Times

Happy reading!

  2. I enjoyed the Atlantic article "When are you really an adult", especially the reader's answers to the question the author posed, some of the them really resonated with me.

    1. I felt the same! When I was growing up I thought a bold line separated adulthood from childhood, but the older I get the blurrier that line gets! :)
