Chateau Parka

While wandering about town last weekend, I spotted no fewer than a dozen Chateau Parkas in various colors. A good product will sell itself—these women became walking billboards for J. Crew and the experience was more seamless than even the best native advertising. Had I not known the origin of the design, I would've chased after many of them (as I am prone to do) to find out from where they had purchased their coats.

As I mentioned in my review, the design is equal parts comfort and style. It's especially attractive to lazy dressers as it shines brightest with a basic outfit of jeans and a neutral-colored top. The full fur trim on the hood, shiny hardware, oversized patch pockets, and leather details add enough visual interest that anything more is superfluous.
A friend of mine has taken to stockpiling this coat (she's up to six colors, with plans to buy more). While I share her enthusiasm, I've only picked up another Chateau Parka in Heather Chestnut for my mom and one in Golden Sun for myself during the last sale and lest something tragic befalls one of mine, I think this is the end for me.

  1. Did you happen to have a problem with the lining when you wore this coat with jeans? I wore it twice with jeans and both times the interior lining was pilling.

    1. Hi there! I have not experienced the problem that you've described but will pay attention to the lining to see if this issue develops down the road. Thanks for sharing!
