Peplum Tee & Watercolor Skirt

May 19, 2014

After twenty-plus years I'd like to think I've got this dress-myself thing down pat yet choosing the right shoes continues to regularly stump me (which is why it seems that I only own four pairs of shoes--1|2|3|4).

I think this outfit would look less...labored if I donned flats (or something other than these heels) but I am unsure what might work better. Ideas welcome.
Free People We The Free Solid Peplum Tee (reviewed here) | J. Crew Crinkled Silk Tempest Skirt (last worn here) | Madewell Transport Tote | Marc by Marc Jacobs Rose Gold Watch | Steve Madden Ravesh Pointed-Toe Pumps (reviewed here)

I know I promised a thorough review of this tote some time ago but I still haven't gotten around to editing pictures for a post. The Cliffs Notes' version of that future post is this: like, would recommend. I hope some of you were able to buy it during the last Shopbop F&F event because I haven't seen a better sale since.

On the sale front, ASOS is running a promotion on 700+ dresses (discounting them by about 25%). My picks: Maxi Dress In Paisley Print, Pepe Jeans Striped T-Shirt Dress, Mini Dress in Floral Scuba Print, Cutabout Stripe Bardot Body-Conscious Dress, Cami Wrap Jacquard Tulip Dress, Botanical T-Shirt Dress, Crochet Placed Pencil Dress, and Crochet Lace Dress In Knit.

Happy shopping!

  5. Cute look! I might have gone for a pop of color, red or yellow or something metallic. Also, I could see that outfit working well with chunky heels.

    1. Chunky heels...chunky heels...I don't see a pair in my closet (or maybe it's lacunar amnesia). Will keep my eyes peeled for a pair. :)

    1. I don't think I've worn this skirt with a plain tee yet, but that's very practical advice. I think less is more applies here. :)

Thanks for the advice and happy Friday!
