Review: Kate Spade New York Lisa Polka Dot PumpNovember 12, 2012
These days I find myself gravitating toward printed and textured pumps - they add interest to solid colored outfits without disrupting the balance already in place. I had been waiting with bated breath for the Kate Spade Lisa Pumps to go on sale. When I realized they were finally marked down, I quickly ordered the ink blue and pink to try.
In person I find the shoes somewhat lacking in je ne sais quoi. They were nevertheless lovely but the colors were harsher in person. The pink was a slightly obnoxious barbie pink and the patent leather trim looked almost pleather-like.
Other issues to contend with include the heel height and the slope of the sole. I have a moderate arch and think these shoes should work best for those with a slightly lower arch. The 4-in heel is tall but manageable. I certainly wouldn't suggest that you attempt to walk all day on concrete sidewalks but think these will work just fine for those with a sedentary job who plan to wear them on carpeted floors or as special-occasions shoes.
Buy them at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom's, Saks, Foot Candy, Designs by Stephene, Jildor, Footnotesonline, Bloomingdale's and Zappos.
If you find shoes with mesh uppers to be out of sync with your style but love printed pumps (or polka dots), I would recommend the Kate Spade Licorice Pumps, which are all-leather and are available in camel with black dots or black with cream dots. This pump is also available in a version with lower heels.
