Sweet Deal of the Day: Sparkle & Fade Faux Shearling Moto Jacket

March 14, 2011

I am posting this really really long warning before these posts in the future because I am really annoying. OK, I love a great deal as much as the next girl but please think of at least five occasions to which you can wear this item. I have too many one-wear or no-wear pieces in my closet and while they were had at excellent prices, it's not worth it. Think about it, if you buy 30 cheap pieces @ $10 a piece from F21 every month, in a year you have spent $3600 on some cheap clothes that you've worn only a handful of times. If you invest that money with a 5% annual return rate, in 20 years you'll have $9,551.87. I know we have to account for inflation, but can you imagine spending almost 10 grand a year at Forever 21?!

Sparkle & Fade Faux Shearling Moto Jacket - originally $129, on sale for $9.99

One X-Small in stock.

Shipping is $10. Free shipping if you spend $150 and more. Don't forget to account for tax!

  3. I like your warning at the top ;) ....totally agree. I like to think of my items when I buy them in "cost per wear" terms. If I buy a 10 dollar dress and wear it once it cost me 10 dollars. But if I buy a 100 dollar dress and wear it 1000 times it cost me 0.10 cents!

  4. I totally agree with you. I saw this jacket last week when the price was $19.99. At the end, I decided not to get it because it's not me. Even though it costs less than 20 bucks.

  7. I completely agree with your warning. That's probably why I haven't really been shopping lately. I've just been wearing the clothes I already have.

I do like the style of the jacket, but even the fitting of it does not look good on the model. The sleeves are too short and the shape is very unflattering for her figure! ;/

    What a great price though...

  8. What an adorable and TRUE disclaimer! Please make it a warning every time you write a post on a classic piece. I'm so guilty in buying things that are on sale and I always think the more the better. Not always true and I always run out of things to wear it with. I literally just gritted my teeth just thinking of giving Forever 21 that much money. OHMYGOSH.

  9. I never gave F21 my money - it mostly went to Loft. But the disclaimer is very true! I wanted to ask you if you wore your ASOS PETITE Tailored Drummer Girl Tulip Dress a lot? How does it hold up in the wash? I am skeptical of ASOS due to your previous reviews of their items...but this dress is so cute...Thank you in advance!

  10. Jarucha - I haven't worn the ASOS dress at all...but it's miles better than most of the items I've reviewed. They offer free shipping and free returns so it doesn't hurt to hurt and see for yourself? :)
