OOTD: Trying New Things + J. Crew Extra 30% Off Sale

February 23, 2011

I recently saw Extra Petite (another look here) and Petite Little Girl wear their cardigans tucked into a skirt and I thought that was such an innovative idea. I finally decided to give it a try today.

I think it works well when the skirt has volume but I remain suspicious that my pencil skirts will conceal the layers underneath.

Tank: Abercromie & Fitch (high school old)
Cardigan: Ann Taylor Solid Merino V-Neck Cardigan
Skirt: H&M (apparently on sale for $7/$10!)

And after much thought I have decided to give in and order the J. Crew Double Serge Pencil Skirt (see it on Callandra, Kileen, a.fashion.deliberation and Jean). I got it in vintage wisteria (size 00) and bronzed ochre (size 00P). Since they are on sale I suppose it's only fair that I shell out for alterations. I am praying that the 00 will only require a hem.

Use code AYC93K for 30% off and free shipping on $100+. The code is courtesy of J.Crew Aficionada.

  1. Oh wow. I love that color combination. I want that skirt so badly. It's been a while so I highly doubt my local stores still have it. I am looking forward to see the JCrew skirt on you. I really want it but it's still out of my price range :(

Boo, H&M is 1.5 hr away from my house but I really want that peach skirt that you have especially if there is a great deal going on. Loving the color palette in your outfit, purple and peach really looks nice on ya.

  4. @Ping twitter isn't too bad! I think it'll be easier than you think to control how much time you spend on it. :)

@Banhannas haha, uh oh Hanna! I think this peach skirt is gorgeous and keep hoping that I can find another one at the discounted price but no such luck. :(

@PetiteLittleGirl I keep checking on those J. Crew skirts and knowing that there's a chance they'll not fit right but at 30% off I just can't wait any longer. :(

  8. Elle - Based on your measurements, I think we are the same size (except you are bustier than me). I've tried the JCrew skirt in 00P and it hangs slightly below my waist and the hem hit right at the knee. I'm not exactly sure anymore, but I remember thinking I would need to get it hemmed.
