Today for work I toured a manufacturer located in a NY hamlet and spoke to the owner who had been in his field for 40+ years. It was really an eye opener that a business of its size and capacity survived the financial crisis of 2007. In any case, he spoke frankly about the cyclical nature of his business and the uncertainty that he faces everyday. The struggle of small business owners isn't readily understood by many but his stories really resonated with me.

I read in the New York Times about the disappointing Jobs Report for January and am ever so thankful that I have a job and that I enjoy it. I am not sure where I am going with this but I guess I just feel really blessed today.

  1. I read that report this morning too, and it made me feel the exact same way. So thankful to be where I am in life, even if it's not perfect.

That skirt is gorgeous on you. :)

  2. @Kristen Definitely! :) Thank you for that comment.

And I love that skirt too. It's rather flattering on most people I have seen so H&M did a good job here. :)

@Box Moon Babble Thank you! It's well reviewed by several other bloggers and possibly still in select stores! :)

  3. What do you do, Elle? I feel like you're Chandler from Friends, with a super cool job that nobody knows about, hehe.

I like the bronze buttons on the cardi. It has an antique feel that goes well with the lace skirt!

  4. @Cee lol Cee, it's not that secretive and not that cool. I work in the sales department for my dad's lighting business and I get to traveled a bit at times with him. I enjoy it and I think that's what counts. I love my family and I see them everyday at work. :)

  5. It's the lace skirt :D I like the gold buttons on the cardigan. Adds a really nice detail
