Cocktail Dress Hour : Proenza Schouler Quilted Bustier Dress

January 29, 2011

This Proenza Schouler Quilted Bustier Dress is one of my all-time favorite dresses - though I haven't found an occasion for it yet. The bf highly approved of this one and kept trying to convince me that it's ok to wear out during the day.

I wasn't able to find a size smaller than 4 so that's what I ended up with. I think the right size for me is a size 2 but I am just happy that I was able to get it period.
I think the bf likes it because the quilted portion of the dress reminds him of a blanket.
Happy Saturday! :)

  1. Bfs sure give the best analogies :) Mine is quite up front about my clothing choices too. The bodice area is really unique and I like how the skirt portion flares out. LBD #? I've lost count :)

  2. ooh, I like the quilted pattern too (not because it reminds me of a blanket, lol) From afar, it looks like a simple classy dress, but up close, it's quite interesting with the details and darkish blue color. I'm glad it fits pretty well for being a size 4! that's luck! I think your bf should take out someplace nice with that dress ;)

  3. @olyvia I really like the quilting too but I hate that I have to think about blankets...he really likes to associate clothing with everyday objects and it bothers me a little. :) We don't do fancy dinners very often because we are tv dinner people. hehe

@Cee haha, don't they?! This is actually a different kind of LBD...it's dark blue! I know, a huge improvement for me!

  11. That is so cute that he compared your dress to a functional item LOL typical of guys, right? I like the unique piping of the dress, so asymmetrical and modern! It does look a smidge big in the torso area but not too overwhelming or anything like that.
This dress will look so cute for date night with your bf! Movies, dinner, ect.. =0D
