Marc by Marc Jacobs Primrose Garden Dress

August 23, 2010

I wrote a post last week of me wearing a MbMJ dress with a full skirt and I mentioned how I love the style. This is another MbMJ dress that is similar in style. This is currently my favorite casual day dress at the moment, I just love the floral print and the fullness of the skirt.

I am wearing a size 2, slightly smaller than the size 4 I wore in the other post. I had bought this dress from Gilt but the smallest size offered was a 2 and I definitely need a 0 as the two is too loose around the bust as well. The 4 I can pull on without unbuttoning or unzipping.
This dress doesn't look that great on me right now but I plan to get it altered and get shoes that match it better. And here's the picture that started this love affair, I seriously chased after this dress for months before finding it in a relevant size on Gilt.

  1. Oh that dress is SO pretty! I love it! I think you could wear any color shoe with it for a pop of color.

  2. You are right, Melissa! I think I just need to try it with some colorful shoes as I can't imagine right now what it would look good with.

  3. I'm guessing you have a small ribcage area because I *think* that the dress slightly floats away from your body a bit. I have the same exact problem and what do is tie a scarf/belt around that area so it lies flat.

I LOVE your dresses, omg. I have a weakness for full skirts it seems. I love putting a trench or a short coat around it and have the skirt slightly peaking out.

  4. Me too, I think we have very similar taste in clothes. :)

I don't have a small ribcage, I actually think I have the opposite (for things that are too small, I can zip up just past the waist and then it won't budge). I think this particular style of MbMJ dresses just runs a bit bigger
