Another Pink Outfit

August 29, 2010

I am rather proud of myself for assembling this outfit from mostly old things. The pleated skirt (kid's size 14 from Kohl's) and H&M tank top (that you can't really see hiding under the super flowy shirt) are from years ago. I am wearing tweed Chinese Laundry shoes, the top (size large, brand is Cozy Casual) cost $2 and I found it in TJMaxx. The coat (size 0) is by Via and I got it from Victoria's Secret. I have put myself on a clothing ban since I am planning to splurge on some big ticket items so the next few outfits will likely be my attempt to dress frugally.

How did I do?

  1. Loving the large blouse and short skirt. As you already know I love flowy stuff. Definitely something I'd wear! :)

  2. That top is really neat. I bet it would look great with a nice pair of skinny jeans too.

  3. I think you did great! Love, LOVE the top, Elle! It's a steal, too! Btw, is that a new banner? Love it!

  4. Your outfit is really cute, but that coat looks so big on you! What big ticket items are you saving up for? :)

  5. Oh, I LOVE this look, dear! So chic and very ladylike.

  6. Your shoes look awesome. They go well with the outfit

  7. Ping - thanks, you are the queen for flowy things though. I try to look this chic.

Nelah - thanks for the advice, I'd definitely try that. I hadn't thought about it but that's a great idea.

Owl - thanks. I thought it was a pretty great find. On the hanger it looked pretty boring, which is why I think it kept getting marked down. Yes, newish banner. I made it sometime last week when I was bored at work.

PetiteXXS - you bring up a good point about the jacket, I actually hadn't noticed until I took a picture of me wearing it...I didn't spend very much on it so I am debating whether altering it would be worth the effort.
I am saving up for two Chanel bags at the moment. The SA's that I've contacted said they'd get back to me if they get their hands on what I am looking for. I am also trolling ebay too in case something similar comes up.

Tris1978ton, Josie and PLG - thanks!

  8. A brand called Cozy Casual?? That's right up my alley!

  9. Great outfit, though I agree with PetiteXXS that the coat looks a bit big, but then again, it's supposed to be as an overcoat since you'll be wearing layers underneath. =)
